  •     The percentage of Lisle Junior High School students who will meet and exceed standards on the 2010 ISAT Math test will surpass 91.3%.

  • Implement Response to Intervention (RtI) and monitor the impact of program implementation on student response to interventions and increased student achievement.

Implementing RtI
  •  We have implemented a new master schedule designed with interventions for RtI.  Students who test below grade level in reading are placed in the READ 180 class for language arts and literature.  Students who also do not meet grade level standards in math or reading on their MAP and ISAT assessments are placed in our new exploring reading and exploring math classes.  These classes were formed to assist these students in their specific need.  Their progress is continually being monitored by our team of teachers and their exploring class teachers during our team meetings.

  • We will implement a homework hotline on the junior high school web page during the 2009-2010 school year.

  • Continue to achieve financial recognition from the Illinois State Board of Education through effective management of resources that promotes fiscal stability and financial accountability.

  • We will manage and expend funds that support student and teacher educational needs, professional development, and maintenance of facilities, all within a balanced budget.

  • Increase recycling among students and staff by:
  • Expanding recycling to include plastics, aluminum cans, cardboard, along with paper.
  • Increase awareness through announcements and classroom discussion.
  • Student participation in collecting recyclables.

"As we move forward"
  •     As we move forward, the staff of Lisle Junior High School will remain focused on the academic success of each individual student.  The implementation of Professional Learning Communities at LJHS will continue to be critical to student academic success as it provides a forum that brings teachers together to analyze data, assess student work, examine current research, review school improvement plans, and engage in discussions that emphasize student learning.
